Correct. You don’t have to train to failure. Anything between 1-5 RIR will yield results. But if you never train to failure, you don’t know if what you think 1RIR is really 1RIR. So… you have to train to failure. Just not all the time.

P. S. Without sufficient mechanical tension, volume won’t do much.
